A love tangle. A lonely girl. A lost god.
One angry mother.
LOVE TRADE tests the sex games Demeter passes on to her daughter Persephone, when she wanders away from the Upper World and meets the exotic Shiva.
All three undergo the death of fake dreams and false longings as they descend into the Depths, two emerge transformed.
Katie is so excited to be working with Lucas and Elizabeth after having such a wonderful time collaborating on the workshop of Perfect Curiosity in January 2013! Originally from San Diego, Katie is a dancer, choreographer, theater deviser and teaching artist. She co-founded Theater in Asylum in 2010 and the company’s pieces have been seen in New York City, regionally and abroad. She is currently at work on a musical about the Brontës sisters with Sarah Zeigler Blair and the amazing Lucas Tahiruzzaman Syed! Katie works with Disney Theatrical Group, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and New York Theatre Workshop as a Dance and Musical Theater Teaching Artist in the public schools of New York. Katie is also Communications Director of The League of Independent Theater, an advocacy group for the makers of Independent Theater in New York City.
