Embodied Performance Workshops
Embodied Performance workshops engage a fusion of Western and Eastern physical theater practices to create a theatrical event that transcends cultural barriers while illuminating the universal truths embedded within them. The work embraces a multiplicity of languages and customs which reflect participants’ diversity in age, gender, practice, ethnicity and nationality. Heightened text, abstract imagery and transformative objects are investigated to release their metaphoric power through physical/vocal explorations. Together the participants investigate an issue of social urgency that effects local and/or global communities to generate collaborative creations that reflect a living, breathing whole that is recognizable in its immediacy.
