EMBODIED PERFORMANCE

WORKSHOPS

"Hess presents a complex, daunting, and terrifying yet thrilling way for an actor to enter into the world of vulnerability and is a profoundly gifted, sophisticated, and talented artist." - David Krasner

" Elizabeth has left an indelible mark on my soul." - Chris Andrae

Embodied Performance Workshops

Embodied Performance workshops engage a fusion of Western and Eastern physical theater practices to create a theatrical event that transcends cultural barriers while illuminating the universal truths embedded within them. The work embraces a multiplicity of languages and customs which reflect participants’ diversity in age, gender, practice, ethnicity and nationality. Heightened text, abstract imagery and transformative objects - culled from the culture of the host country - are investigated to release their metaphoric power through physical/vocal explorations. Together the participants investigate an issue of social urgency that effects local and/or global communities to generate collaborative creations that reflect a living, breathing whole that is recognizable in its immediacy.
